A lot has happened in 2024 for this campaign, and it’s helpful and encouraging to look at all that has been accomplished.  New Haven Climate Movement Rallies for Environmental Sustainability Prioritization in New Haven's TrThe climate crisis is here and needs to be addressed now – from many different directions and levels. The New Haven Climate Movement (NHCM) is focusing on transportation policies in their city. Learn more about the Transportation Transformation Resolution being proposed by NHCM and how they’re working to gain support of the resolution. |  Military OutdoorsThe link between being outdoors and health is well documented. Sierra Club’s Military Outdoors program focuses on bringing folks from the military community into nature to enjoy its benefits. This program has gained support and had many successful outings, and we’re looking forward to more events in the coming year! |  Honk for Climate ActionFor over a year now, Sierra Club members in Connecticut have gathered in West Hartford each month for climate change demonstrations with a goal to raise awareness around climate change.  Capitol Area System CampaignSierra Club Connecticut is continuing to organize to pressure our state to clean up the dirty energy Capital Area System (CAS) and transition to 100% clean and renewable energy. Get up to date with our CAS campaign and see what you can do next to add your support. |  Back from the BrinkEndorsed by the Sierra Club, Back from the Brink is an organization bringing attention to and working to prevent the growing threat of nuclear weapons. We have the opportunity now to push for a house resolution to address the dangers of nuclear war. |  America, Please Take Your Foot Off the Gas - It Is Killing UsDo you know where our electricity comes from in Connecticut? Unfortunately most of our power is coming from gas, harming the planet and the people. A disappointingly low amount comes from renewable energy. Get the breakdown of our state’s electric generation and see what we can do to help. |
 A Song Called VoteTake a listen to this song, written by one of our Sierra Club members, mainly inspired by the climate crisis and calling out the five countries that produce the most emissions (via their currencies). It is a call to action to “Vote with your dollar, vote with your conscience”. |  A Poem - Bear, Porcupine, and MeEnjoy these sweet observations of two beloved forest creatures in a poem submitted by one of our members. |  A Poem - Apple TreeThis poem is inspired by a piece of land historians call the “Apple Tree” section of New Fairfield. It reflects on this land that the Europeans settled and where the Indigenous people lived before that. |
