Chapter Chair UpdateIn our chair’s last update of the year (the Quinnehtukqut is on break next month) and as election season comes to a close, we optimistically look to the future. We are working towards peace, justice and a liveable planet on many fronts. Join us! | Remembering Dave JacksonIt is with great sadness that we note the death of David Windsor Jackson, 83, loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, life-long conservationist, life member of the Sierra Club and one of the longest serving volunteers with Sierra Club Connecticut. Join us in remembering and celebrating his life. | International Journal Publishes CT Methane Leak StudyIn 2019, Sierra Club Connecticut commissioned researchers to investigate the number of gas leaks objectively found in pipelines in Hartford, New London, Danbury and elsewhere in Connecticut.
The study was published last month in an international online journal. The results were shocking but confirmed what we already surmised. |

This Fall, Please Bear in MindThe autumn months are a busy time of year for black bears—so it’s a good time to pay attention to best practices for a peaceful coexistence with these wild neighbors. Black Bears are an integral part of the Connecticut forest ecosystem, and to protect them we need to reduce human-bear interaction. | Book ReviewLooking for your next read to cozy up with inside as the cold weather is upon us? Check out this review of Jane Fonda’s book documenting her “path from climate despair to action.” The book contains information from experts and inspiration for what we can do to combat climate change. | Donate Your VehicleWhether it's running or not, you can donate your car, truck, boat, RV, or motorcycle to support Sierra Club Connecticut, sponsored by the Sierra Club Foundation. Help us advocate for clean air, water, and land for all, making a more sustainable planet for tomorrow! |
