Ready for 100 (RF100) is the Sierra Club's national effort to encourage local communities to commit to use 100% renewable energy sources. We are different from traditional grassroots campaigns in a few ways. RF100 is a distributed campaign, creating networks of local leaders who support each other in building a powerful, well-organized movement from the ground up. Local volunteers are working city-by-city in pursuit of just and equitable transitions to 100% clean renewable energy that focus on the needs of affected communities. Nationally, we’re building a movement to amplify these stories to demonstrate that 100% is not only possible, but is happening now. 

This campaign was launched in 2016. As of April 2020, 163 cities, 12 counties, 7 states, D.C., and Puerto Rico have committed to a just and equitable transition to 100% clean, renewable energy (electricity, transportation and buildings).

In Connecticut, supporters of 100% clean and renewable energy have formed teams in Milford, New Haven, Stamford, West Hartford, and Windsor to build community support for affordable, community-based, and 100% clean, renewable sources of energy; where energy systems are predicated on racial, economic and environmental justice; where a thriving workforce has access to secure, safe and sustainable jobs; and where there is democratic accountability to ensure that the energy industry is fair, just and aligned with the public interest. Teams in these communities hold events and meetings to raise awareness, provide information and education, and take action.
