 The Beginning of the End for Killingly Dirty Power Plant?Sierra Club Connecticut members – alongside many ally organizations – have been opposed to the proposed 650 megawatt fossil fuel power plant in Killingly, CT since it first appeared in 2016.  Stepping Forward: Remington Woods UpdateOur journey to save Remington Woods continues. This past month the Bridgeport Planning and Zoning Committee held a public hearing on the proposed zoning maps for Bridgeport. There was an overwhelming dissent for any plans to develop the woods. Join us as we move forward to #SaveRemingtonWoods. |  Join in Supporting the Wildlife Committee's 2022 Legislative Priorities!The upcoming legislative session is starting soon, so legislators need to hear from you now! Take action to urge them to ban steel-jaw traps, prohibit the use of exotic and wild animals in traveling animal acts, and oppose attempts to legalize bear hunting (and rather promote public education towards peaceful co-existence). |  Climate Resiliency in ConnecticutWhat does climate resiliency mean? What would it look like in our state? Sierra Club Connecticut’s Shoreline Group has been discussing these topics with Connecticut leaders and residents, and will be continuing the conversation at their next meeting. How can we build resilience as we deal with climate change upon us? |
